>There’s been a lot of talk about future automotive technology – hydrogen, electric, compressed natural gas (CNG) and much more. All of this is terrific. Which technology will win? I don’t know. Maybe it’s a combination of a number of things.

In a good year, new vehicle sales are about 16-17 million; due to the poor economy and dismal state of the North American automobile industry we’re looking at 9 million in 2009. It will take years to replace the 240 million+ vehicles on the road in the U.S. In the meantime, what can we do?
