>One Million Acts of Green is a website designed for people to share their small contributions to making their lives and habits a little more green – greennexxus.com. These can be big acts like covering your roof with solar panels or simply running your laundry on cold water. You can share your acts on the website and a calculator will add your contributions to the total amount of CO2 saved from the air. Sometimes we feel a little overwhelmed by the daunting task of mitigating the potential effects of climate change but such a website allows participators to feel part of something bigger (and more useful) than greening your life on your own.
We of course like the the transportation section of the website. They encourage you to check your tire pressure, don’t idol your vehicle, carpool when possible and, if your feeling flush with cash, purchase a more efficient vehicle. Altogether over 36,000,000 lbs of CO2 have been saved from the air in the United States alone. Cisco Systems is the sponsor of the website and I am sure they are excited about the power of the human network to save carbon from the air. Wink. We all should be too.
