>In an effort to make electric charging stations a reality and meet future transportation needs, Japanese engineering behemoths Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Fuji are working together to create a standardized electric vehicle charging station – inhabitat.com. The trick is getting automakers to agree to this standardization. American and European car companies are already on their way to making electric vehicles which may not be compatible with the standard Japanese model. But never fear! Electric vehicles are still in their early stages and electric charging stations have yet to become a widespread reality. We have just enough time to create a standard before more electric vehicles are used and charging stations are required. Plus, with those giants of the Japanese automotive industry behind the plan, others might be forced to follow suit. Get on board GM and Ford before you fall behind again (or come up with something better).
