The Ford motor company is thinking green this year, and are on my radar quite often with green initiatives. Here’s a couple of pieces of awesome (and timely) news from the American manufacturer. First, they’re going to be implementing Eco-guidance technology in several of their new cars going forward (both hybrids and traditional gasoline cars) to help empower the driver to take control of her fuel economy. The technology will offer realtime guidance and tips to help reduce fuel consumption behind the wheel, and even extend to mobile apps and more. And second, Ford is reducing their presence on the Michigan grid by installing an impressive array of solar panels, which apparently will generate 500kw of electricity to help power the facility. This energy will be stored in a battery array capable of storing two million watt-hours of energy – enough to power 100 average Michigan homes for a year.
