RecycleBank has developed a new way to reward people for learning about sustainability. The company gives discounts and deals from local and national businesses for people taking everyday green actions. Households earn RecycleBank Points by registering and participating on the company website, which can then be used to shop at over 1,500 local and national businesses.

There are several ways to earn points. You can enter the Recyclebank Points Code found on specially marked packages of Kashi cereal boxes and earn 50 points for coupons on Kashi foods. Other ways to earn points include watching a short video and taking a quiz, like the one by Dove which teaches users how to properly recycle shampoo, conditioner, and body wash containers for 25 points. You can also get a quick 10 points if someone registers for a Recyclebank account from your recommendation.

The rewards are divided up into categories varying from health & beauty and gifts & flowers, to food & beverage and office & electronics, with a range from 20 points all the way to 2,000. 20 points can get you $1 off a dozen doughnuts at Dunkin Donuts, 50 points for $5 off a $50 purchase at Shaws for 50 points, 115 points for a one-year subscription of Cosmopolitan, or for 2,500 points a $10 iTunes giftcard.

By learning about the positive impact recycling has on the environment, and answering a few short questions, people can earn everyday rewards that make the world a little bit greener.
