Fisker finally has delivered its first production model extended range plug-in electric hybrid luxury sedan.

Fisker describes the Karma as the world’s first extended range plug-in electric, even though that’s also the description for the 2012 Chevrolet Volt, which put its production models on the road months ago, and more than just one. The difference, according to Autoblog, is that the Volt operates on both gas and electric, while the Karma is a pure EV electric extended range vehicle. The first of its kind.

Also unlike the Volt, which is an affordable sedan, the 2012 Fisker Karma is a luxury performance four-seater that looks and acts like a sportscar, and costs more like the Porsche Panamera and Jaguar XF, its non-electric competitors.
