The roadside service company AAA announced at this year’s Plug-In 2011 convention in North Carolina that it would start a trial run program of electric mobile charging for members who own electric vehicles.
AAA says the company will be able to charging electric cars using Level 2 and Level 3 options, which we covered earlier this year, and said its refueling trucks would feature a generator or a removable lithium-ion battery. The company will offer up to 15 minutes of charging time to members, which should give anywhere from three to fifteen miles of range to a vehicle depending on the model.
