The 2020 Jaguar I-Pace is not only a premium-compact-crossover SUV, but it also has the unique distinction of being one of the only all-electric vehicles on the market. Fully designed from its inception to deploy an electric engine, the Jaguar I-Pace has no gas-powered equivalent, meaning that the two electric motors, one for each axle, and the battery pack are neatly stowed allowing for plenty of room. There is a distinct and attractive style, as well as a quiet and pleasing drive, which is typical of Jaguar. The electric engine allows the I-Pace to go up to 234 miles on one charge.

Most electronic drivetrains have an innate ability to deliver all of their thrust right from the get-go. Therefore, the 2020 Jaguar I-Pace is very quick off the line. According to Warren Henry Jaguar (Miami, FL), the two battery-powered motors allow the vehicle to twist out an incredible 512 lb-ft of torque. With a battery pack located between the axels, this gives the I-Pace a low center of gravity, which is exceptionally advantageous. Along with the motors positioning, the front-to-rear weight distribution is a terrific 50-50.

There are three trim levels available for the 2020 Jaguar I-Pace, with each coming with a ton of features. The base trim level is the S, and it comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, adaptive air suspension, all-wheel-drive, and rain-sensing wipers. Other standard features include a fixed panoramic roof, simulated leather upholstery, ambient cabin lighting, front and rear parking sensors, navigation, a self-steering parking feature, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Higher-level trims bring you 20-inch alloy wheels, power tailgate, and safety features like blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with stop and go technology. There is a boatload of customizable options as well, so you can customize your I-Pace yo your liking. Some of these options include heated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, a heated steering wheel, quad-zone climate control, adaptive dynamics, and an adaptive surface-response system.

The combination of electronic motors gives the I-Pace the ability to have four-wheel-drive, but it also can send the power to the front and rear wheels as well if the situation calls for it. Each motor comes with 197 horsepower and 256 lb-ft of torque. Though the Jaguar I-Pace can go up to 234 miles on a single charge, you will eventually have to charge the battery. It takes about 12.9 hours to charge on a 230-volt AC Level 2 Charger at home. The battery pack has an eight-year warranty on 100,000 miles. If the battery happens to fall below 70 percent efficiency, Jaguar will replace it at no extra charge.

Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular thanks to the inception of cars like the Prius, but with Jaguars I-Pace, these vehicles have now infiltrated the luxury market. The I-Pace comes with Jaguar’s signature luxury interior as well as a bevy of features and makes for a terrific choice for those who want to take their electric car driving experience a step further. If you’re looking for an electric vehicle that can blow the others off the line in a heartbeat, you owe it to yourself to take a look at the 2020 Jaguar I-Pace.
