Does the idea of road-tripping in a pickup make you wince? The 2020 Ram 1500 builds a strong case for doing just that. Pickups aren’t generally known for cushy interiors, but Ram decided to tackle that perception and tackled it head-on.

Taking a seat in the front of the cabin, driver and passenger are struck by the spaciousness of it all, which is why it earned the first-in-class ranking with an unheard of 40.9 inches of headroom and legroom in the first row.

Passengers climbing into the Big Horn Quad Cab second row are treated to 39.2 inches of headroom and 35.6 inches of legroom. Opt-in for leather seating, heated or cooled seating or another upgrade for the second row, an eight-degree recline. By the way, the Big Horn Quad Cab trim level gives buyers the option of leather twin bucket seats or three-person bench for the front row of seating.

The ride is an impressive one. According to Vatland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, it’s because of the 1500 rear suspension system that employs an exclusive link-coil rear suspension system with an available active-level air suspension at all four corners.

No road trip is complete without music, right?
Okay, so maybe the idea of a singalong is a bit far-fetched. However, if belting out some classic rock or spitting lyrics is a must on the drive, the available 900-watt,19-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Audio System in the 2020 Ram 1500 will most definitely take you there.

Perhaps instead you’re looking forward to catching some sleep on the way down the road (as long as you’re not driving). The active noise-cancellation system provides a tranquil hush, reducing those ambient sounds. Combine that hush with your supportive deluxe seating and you’ll be cutting Zzzz’s in no time.

Yeah, but where will I put all our stuff?
The 2020 Ram 1500 cabin interior offers more interior storage capacity versus closest competitor at 151.1 liters, that’s nearly 100 percent more than other models in its class. The front storage console can be configured for storing and charging up to five mobile devices, an option available in five trim levels.

Rear benches lift and fold upward to provide storage space underneath and can be supplemented with a set of optional RamBins.

That’s the inside storage. Remember, you have a choice of a 5’7” or 6’4 length cargo bed and the RamBox Cargo Management System is available in most trim levels. Besides, that new 60/40 split tailgate makes loading and unloading any extra stuff into the bed so much easier.
